Why should science focus on hairloss instead of cancer (Hair Multiplication & Research)

» Sounds like Ahab has been making excuses for the past 40 years instead of
» living his life.

If you were as capable as I, you would understand.

It is the great curse of my life to be afflicted with a handicap that the vast majority of people are too brainwashed to credit.

I am like the medieval crusader who closed one eye, vowing never to open it again until he sees Jerusalem.

When I was a boy, I learned I would go bald because of genetics. I vowed that would never happen to me.

So when my hair did fall out, there was only one way to stand by my vow: refuse to live life, refuse to be me.

I have chosen the latter for 40 years--I "live" as a recluse.

I hibernate.

Supporting, not to mention enduring, such an existence is an enormous challenge, which I learned to surmount.

Think what I might have achieved had I had been free to chose a lesser priorty vow, like curing cancer, instead!
