brm: sometimes I mega-dose with it at night, but this is on an empty stomach. The purpose of this is to induce a burst of growth hormone which Arginine can do. That may be what you are thinking of when you say to take it on an empty stomach. For this, an empty stomach is indeed required.

As regards its "natural viagra" properties, this is something quite different from using it for growth hormone inducement.. Both viagra and Arginine affect the production/use of nitric oxide in the body, specifically in the erection function. Arginine boost nitric oxide in the bloodstream quite rapidly. I can't find exact stats, but I just read something that says it happens within 10 to 20 minutes. This has happened to me whether not I've had an empty stomach. I think it works roughly the same amount of time as viagra -- the bump dissipates quickly within a few hours.

Look, I am not selling anything. If you want to use viagra or cialis or whatever and that works better, that's great. Arginine's a lot cheaper and for me it works, again as a hedge against deflation. I am not sure I won't perform, but I want to have a greater confidence that I will.
