well i do not really say that they do................they are part of the large equation of what has worked for me
I only took multi vits and minerals for about 20 yrs, i didnt know any better and had been brainwashing myself to think this was all that would work, since i did not want to try rogaine etc

I staved off my thinning very well for those 20 yrs with the vits but i was doing nothing to address the DHT buildup so out of desperation in 1999 i added Saw Palmetto, and then gradually added other dht blockers. My see through front hair thickened within a year to normal thickness and my hair that was not growing on top started growing at a normal rate in about 12 to 16 months.

Now some guys do not respond at all to the naturals, I am a lucky responder. but i do not think they stop working after a few years, I seem to be doing great nine years down the road.

The vits and minerals are for overall hair thickness, hair health, speed of growth, etc etc I do not think u can just ignore the fact of how important the vits are to overall hair health. Do they cause direct regrowth, it depends, I regularly got a lot of regrowth in the early stages with the vits, but this was 1 to 4 yrs into my thinning, and i think the niacin is a vasodilator like rogaine, and u see regrowth from that also . But as the dht accumulates, if you do nothing about it, like in my situation, the dht will overwhelm any positive vits and minerals benefits, you have to get rid of the dht buildup somehow
