Essential Oils \ Menthol Shampoo recommendations (All Topicals & Shampoos)

posted by Pete2, 24.04.2009, 06:01

» » » Hi, ive been reading this forum and a number of posts recommend an
» » » essential oils shampoo with menthol to stimulate blood flow. Would
» » anyone
» » » know a specific brand name I should be looking for, as none of the
» » posts
» » » have mentioned any. I have looked on google and found 'Head &
» Shoulders
» » » Natural Menthol' shampoo. Is this the one people on here use? Im
» » currently
» » » on a Piroctone Olamine shampoo (from the body shop) and would like to
» » » alternate with an essential oils/menthol shampoo.
» » »
» » » Any help most appreciated.

» » What you will find is that alot of Piroctone Olamine shampoos are good,
» » even they can be a little harsh on the scalp for daily use. I use one
» isnt
» » that harsh but combining your shampoo with an Essential oil is a good
» » idea.
» »
» » You can try an oil similar to that of the Essential oil topical used in
» » the scottish study or use a good essential oil conditioner and perhaps
» » rotate with any Peppermint shampoo to give blood flow a boost!

» Thanks for that. Are there any off-the-shelf ready made products that you
» recommend or are currently using with regards to essential oils conditioner
» / peppermint shampoo?

This is a basic easily sourced PTO shampoo:

I dont actually use an exclusive essential oil topical as I use a topical which contains those ingredients aswell as others. I have just actually restarted it again!

»
» I did look at the study you mentioned and they said they use 4 oils:
» thyme, lavender, rosemary and cedarwood. I could just as well find a
» conditioner base and add these oils to it. I could also add peppermint oil
» to the mix and have all 5 oils in it. That way I could use my piroctone
» olamine shampoo and the 5 oils conditioner each day. Does that sound
» reasonable? Are there any other oils recommended to the mix?

I wouldnt dilute the original formula too much - try a Peppermint shampoo instead.

»
» Aside from that, it would be great to know what products you use in your
» regime. I have sourced out a place here that sells essential oils/base
» shampoos and conditioners. Will look into it.
»
» Thanks again.

» Cheers,
» voirin

Ive listed a shampoo and Ive restarted Calosol.

To reduce hairloss further you may want to improve your lifestyle via using a few things; lecithin, pantothenic acid and chromium.

If yo have any questions regarding topicals Dr Y is answering them in the TOPICAL forum.

Pete
