|
|
1 |
What is hair replacement?
|
|
|
Hair replacement is the term commonly used for
hairpiece or toupee. It is sometimes called hair system, hair system
units or hair replacement system. It is a non-surgical process to
restore one's hair.

Will the hair grow like my own hair?
|
|
|
No. While hair system can be made using 100% real
human hair, the hair will not grow. It is very important to choose a
style, length, color and density that you like from the very
beginning. You can, however, have different hair system units each
with a different style if you prefer to have some varieties in your
hairstyles from time to time.

Does it work for both men and women with hair loss? |
|
|
Yes. |
|
4 |
Does it work for children hair loss? |
|
|
Yes. As a matter of fact, this is the preferred
treatment for children hair loss as it does not involve drugs or
surgery. It is probably the safest treatment for children.
|
|
5 |
Does it work for people with hair loss due to
medical conditions? |
|
|
Most certainly. The procedure works for people with
hair loss due to medical conditions, burn victims, chemotherapy
patients, badly scarred hair transplant patients as well as people
with scarring or traction alopecia. |
|
6 |
Does it work for alopecia areata & alopecia
universalis patients? |
|
|
Yes. Alopecia areata and alopecia universalis
patients can have their hair back in any density, any length using
non-surgical hair replacement. |
|
7 |
How does it work? How is the hair attached? |
| |
Individual hair is sewn to a base to create the hair
system unit. The base can be made from different kind of materials.
For example, the base can be made from ultra fine lace materials,
polyurethane, and even ultra thin breathable plastic. The base is
then trimmed and customized to fit the shape of the customer's scalp
where thinning or baldness occurs. The unit is usually attached to
the scalp using liquid adhesives, double sided tape or sometimes
micro clips. Some companies still weave the hair system unit into
the customer's existing hair. Weaving can cause traction alopecia
and it is not recommended. |
|
8 |
How long does it last? |
| |
Depending on your lifestyle, a hair system can
usually last anywhere from 1-3 years. |
|
9 |
How strong does the adhesive hold? Can I engage in
any activities like normal? |
| |
For the most part yes. Hair system nowadays can work
very well even in rain and windy conditions. Swimming is also
possible while wearing a hair system. That being said, if someone
intentional tries to pull the hair system off, they can do that
forcefully. |
|
10 |
Can I still shampoo and shower like normal? |
| |
Yes. The base materials are porous so water can seep
through the base. You can shampoo and shower like you normally do
even if you are wearing the hair system. |
|
11 |
How often should I remove the hair system? |
| |
It is recommended that you remove the hair system
every 2-3 days and do a thorough cleansing of the hair system and
your scalp. Then re-attach. Depending on where you purchased the
hair system from, you can either do that at your own home or go to a
specialized hair replacement salon.

What is the difference between custom hair
replacement and hair replacement by mail order? |
| |
The main difference is that with custom hair
replacement, you visit a
hair replacement salon where they have professional
stylist and specialists to guide you through each step of the way.
They will custom design a hair system mold or template for you based
on your specifications. The process gives clients the highest level
of customization possible under professional guidance. The hair
replacement salon will also handle the first cut-in fitting for you
when the hair system is ready. Mail order companies, on the other
hand, provides limited guidance online, by email or by video
demonstration. The bulk of the work is to be performed by the
customer themselves.
