Presently the most effective treatment for hair loss or thinning hair is hair transplantation. When it comes to hair transplant procedures, do not base your decision on price and convenience alone. In most instances, hair transplantation is irreversible. So it pays to do your homework and research properly before making a decision.  It's totally worthwhile to fly to another city to see a reputable surgeon.

One thing you must know when doing your research is a new hair restoration technique called FUE. FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction. NO KNIFE, NO SCALPEL, NO STITCHES, NO VISIBLE SCARRING. Truly minimally invasive and fast healing time. This is presently the most advanced hair restoration technique in the world. Only a few doctors are truly qualified to perform this type of procedure right now.

The old technique is a very traumatic or involved procedure for the patient. Also, it leaves a permanent linear strip scar across the back of the patient's head. When you are doing your research, please remember to ask the doctor: "Will I have a linear scar across the back of my head after the procedure?".  If the answer to this questions is YES, then DO NOT DO IT. It is the old strip technique.
