It doesn't seem that Groot is claiming to know anything in the article. Its the staff writer, Dave Finlayson, that claims Gho is months away from announcing the commercial availability of the procedure. I'd be willing to bet this guys source is this forum, but someone should find out. I'll probably follow up with him when I get a chance (unless someone else wants to).
