A theory about High Blood Pressure and Hair Loss
The following is an email we received from one of our readers. Just want to publish that for the benefits of our readers. Please note that what the email says may or may not be true. It is only a THEORY.We feel that there may be some truth to this hypothesis especially in consideration of the fact that Rogaine is actually a derivative of the oral medication - Minoxidil, which is an anti-hypertension drug.
In fact, I have come across some discussion forums where people talked about taking oral minoxidil in very small doses to treat hair loss. Please do not go out and purchase oral minoxidil to treat hair loss because of this theory. There can be very serious side effects. Be sure to check with your doctor first.

I've come to the conclusion that the root cause of male pattern hair loss is due to daily
elevated blood pressure level in our body.
This is because almost every drugs or vitamin supplements used to treat hair loss also
help to lower blood pressure level. Stroke patients on anti-hypertension medication have
known to grow hair even though they have
been suffering from hair loss prior to stroke.
Although I've no medical reference to support my claim, the effect of constant daily 24
hours elevated blood pressure in our body caused by stress, excess coffee and sugar, or
poor diet cannot be benefical to our hair growth.
I believed all men suffering from hair loss or going bald should have their blood pressure
checked throughout the day. The effect of daily elevated blood pressure could be more
devastating than specific period of high blood pressure as defined by the medical
profession.
It is my opinion that the medical profession should conduct a study to see at what blood
pressure level, elevated daily, would trigger hair loss in adult males.
