I have often suspected this was true. Journalists, like most people (myself included) are a lazy lot. They want to go the path of least resistance. I think this is most of the reason Gho's work along with others is not carried. Hair loss is a very personal issue; most people either suffer from it and are concerned or think it won't happen to them and dismiss it's importance. Cancer in contrast can hit anyone, anytime and it is lethal. Thus stories about hair loss are usually stared with "Hair today, gone tomorrow" and other cliches to establish a comedic tone while other news like possible cures for cancer get everyone reading them with interest. Frankly, the folks at most visual media are so image concious I don't think the idea will ever be taken seriously until near total reversal of baldness is possible so that they can show intrigueing pictures of people going from bald to hairy. It's no coincidence that Spenser's show is on the radio, where people think before reacting to visuals.
