  • While Minoxidil is known to be a hair growth stimulant, Finasteride is generally regarded as an agent that slows down hair loss. Studies have shown that Finasteride slows down hair loss by inhibiting the enzyme (5-alpha reductase) that converts testosterone into DHT, which is the major causes for hair loss in male pattern baldness. Hair follicles that are sensitive to DHT tend to fall when exposed to the hormone. This is the case for most people who are suffering from male pattern baldness.
