I have the same request.
Why is it so hard to get HT docs to give an honest top view and crown view.
There really should be standard photo taking guidelines for this industry.

I agree that another angle is in order. But, it does look pretty damn from that angle...
Not bad for how much ground there was to cover in that transplant.

Eric stated very clearly that it was zone 1, 2, 3 that were restored.
Why is everybody asking for the crown pics when nothing was done to the crown?

Because we want to see the full result.
I guess the rhetorical question is why the need to HIDE it in the first place?
In real life people see you in 3 dimensions and not 2 dimensions from viewing angles that you specifically select. The objective of a transplant is not just to put hairs into the scalp but to ensure the person actually looks better as a whole and not like a wierdo with a nw1 hairline and an ass bald top & crown. That's where the surgeons aesthetic skill and common sense comes in.
Its surely not unreasonable to ask for an honest view of the person's head before making a decision on whether to shell out thousands upon thousands of dollars for a transplant. For all we know, once we see the top & crown we might conclude he was better off bald.
There is no defence for deceptive marketing. Show us the full head. Nobody is expecting the guy to have hair like Alex Baldwin or Michael J. Fox. Just that he should look normal and better than before in 3D. Otherwise what's the point of having a transplant.
As a simple standard for picture posting, I propose ALL transplants be shown with a :
a) front view
b) left & right view
c) back view
d) crown view
e) top view

Well stated! Credibility is earned... earn it! We are educated out here!
The bar has been raised for what passes for truth in hair transplantation. Way too many know the truth about the limitations.
Let's make it real so people considering the process know what to honestly expect through a lifetime... not just the next year or two!

Hairsite is absolutely right. If you take a look at the scale, it clearly depicts where zones 1, 2, and 3 are. Eric clearly stated that zones 1, 2, and 3 were worked on. Judging by the scale, this is a damn good result. Extremely impressive coverage for 3500 FUE's.

I'll tell you why

becasue zone3 also extends to the back a little bit . when u show a pic. from the side, the hairs that are close give the illusion that what's behind is covered. and mind you the photos always make thing lookk better than reality. So it definitely legitimate and a must.
it is about the overall appearence , regardless of the area covered.
i think it is disrespectful

That is fine if you prefer to see the full before and after results even for areas that did not receive any treatment. However, why did you only subject Dr. Armani's results to such scrutiny?
The vast majority of the doctors here only show before and after results of the areas that were treated. How come you have no problem with their posts?

I think that you are right in that there is more suspicion of Armani than other surgeons. The results that he shows are usually very impressive and buck the trend of what can usually be expected from others. He told me that I had 20K available donor hair by FUE since I had 40K donor availability. This may very well be true but it is several times more than others would offer.
The particular issue with this post is that he shows the full extent of baldness in the before and a birds eye view but does not do this in the after. I think that is a little deceptive although I am sure it is not intentional.
I recall a post by robert Jones on this site where he showed a 2K result that gave the impression of complete class V coverage but when a birds eye view came out a year later the coverage and density were actually minimal.
Buyer beware may often be the mantra but it is natural that posters want the full picture. Personally I believe it is best to pick on everyone but preferably in a polite way ...... unless it is ray woods of cause as he more than gives as good as he gets and is quite funny with it ... if not a little nutty with it.

I am on the fence but will get off the fence later this year. I will go for a good strip or a hybrid stip/FUE. I have not been on any meds for a few years but spent a good few years on avodart / fin / minox.

Objective
|
In order to be truly objective the after photos should mimic the before photos - same lighting, angle, etc. This isn't the case here, which simply raises suspicion!
I had a transplant from Dr Armani in December 10 and my personal opinion is that the results are less than average. Certainly not the same degree to which I was expecting looking at exactly these types of before/after photos!

AK if you had a procedure in December 2010 with Dr. Armani then you are roughly 4 to 5 months post op and at 40-50% growth. You have much much more growth to come. It is way to early to judge your result, you are not even 6 months post op yet!
The full result from any procedure is not noticed until the 12-18 month mark. Any clinic will tell you this.
