Alvi Armani - Dr. Baubac Hayatdavoudi, Beverly Hills (Surgery June 13th 2012) (Hair Transplant)

» Ben, did you come clean to your family and friends about the transplant?
» What about people you work with? No offense but the post op pictures were

» Good luck with your recovery.

Hello UFC,
My family and friends knew that I was going to get the surgery done. All I meant to say is that for pretty much every person I spoke to about it, prior to the operation, I meant resistance to the idea.

It is true, the picture might be a little bit graphic but to be honest they only look worst than they actually feel. I have had no pain, at least to the recipient area. The donor area hurt sometimes but it heals very quickly.

I chose to post those pictures up but I could have kept them to myself, my objective was to be transparent to people so that they knew what they were going in for. The pain of not having the hairline I wanted for the rest of my life, greatly out weight the pain of the operation. Proof is that if needed, I will gladly have another operation.

About people I work with, I took 2 weeks off to recover from the operation but I was told you can resume work the next day of the operation, although I would suggest again it. If you can take time off it would be better, like they said, I paid for the operation but not the results. Results will occur depending of my post surgery care and body structure, and during the first week you have a lot of post care to do so it is better to be at home to do it. I told a few of my friends at work but most people "knew" about it but didn't see this post and I don't intend to show it to everyone. Maybe only those who asks me about it. I'm actually going to work tomorrow, my cheeks are still a little bit red but the scabs have fallen so you can't even tell I had surgery there and the top of the head started to flake but you have to look real close to even notice there is something wrong with it.

I would say that after day 2-3, you start feeling much better and looking much better as well. Then it's just a matter of time and patient to wait for your head to heal and the result to start growing. I've had knee surgery and this surgery done and this one was the lesser of the two for sure.

Hope I was able to provide some insight for your family to accept about this procedure, I'm going to post my week 2 post-op pictures later tonight, make sure to have a look.

Ben
